Overview

David’s Bridal is a retailer that specializes in helping brides and grooms find their perfect wear for the big day. David’s Bridal sought to reach their busy, on-the-go brides by releasing a native iOS application for iPhone and iPads. The goal of the project was to release a native v1.0 mobile application with features such as; checkout, appointment booking, and “Dress Finder,” a feature that would help brides find their perfect dress.

Dress finder

The Dress Finder feature was designed to help brides find the perfect dress by understanding their styles and recommending dresses they would love. The Dress Finder holds questions asking the bride to identify their desired silhouette, preferred style, wedding theme, and body type. The long-term vision for the feature is to have brides book an in-store appointment where the store associate has their saved Dress Finder favorites waiting for them to try on.

After completing the quiz, users are shown their results and recommendations for dresses. Users can retake the quiz or make an appointment.

Outcome

50% of David’s Bridal’s traffic stemmed from the iOS application. The Dress Finder feature increased the rate of appointment booking from 8.8% to 9.9% in the app.
